Flight Sharing Program
Cost Sharing:
We share the direct costs of the flight (fuel, aircraft rental, landing fees, etc.) among all passengers on board, making it more affordable for everyone.
Please note that the costs for golfing, accommodation, and other activities at the destination are not included in the flight cost and must be covered by each passenger.
Regulations and Compliance:
Our flights are conducted under the rules for general aviation, also known as private flying. The pilots hold at least a Private Pilot License (PPL) which is designed for private, not commercial, flights. This means our pilots have a shorter training period and less experience compared to commercial pilots.
Our trips follow the regulations for cost-sharing flights. This means private pilots can take passengers who help cover the direct costs of the flight. Pilots cannot make a profit from these flights. For example, the pilot will also pay 2% of the aircraft rental.
For more information about the PPL and cost-sharing flight regulations, please visit the Civil Aviation Authority’s website.
Safety and Risk
Difference Between Commercial and General Aviation:
The safety regulations for general aviation are not as strict as those for commercial aviation. This means there is a higher statistical risk of accidents compared to commercial flights. Commercial airlines have stricter requirements for aircraft, pilot training, and frequent checks by authorities. The risk level in general aviation can be compared to that of road transport.
Accident Statistics in Norway:
Between 2009 and 2018, there were eight fatal accidents with a total of fourteen fatalities in small aircraft accidents in Norway.
For more detailed accident reports, you can visit the Norwegian Safety Investigation Authority’s website and search using parameters like private flying and light aircraft.
What We Do to Ensure Your Safety:
Although the rules for general aviation are less strict, we follow all required regulations, including recent flight experience, weather conditions, and maintenance of our aircraft.
Flight Hours: Our pilots have logged at least 200 flight hours. You can ask to see the pilot’s logbook before the flight.
Recent Flights: Our pilots maintain their skills by flying frequently, with at least 3 take-offs and landings in the past 30 days.
Passenger Rules: We have established rules for passengers to ensure safety and comfort. Please familiarize yourself with these rules and follow them during your flight.
Open Communication and Learning Culture: A key part of our safety approach is open communication and learning from any incidents. We review all unexpected events to understand the causes and how to prevent them in the future. Serious incidents are reported to the Civil Aviation Authority and/or the Norwegian Safety Investigation Authority.
Non-AOC Flights:
Safety is our highest priority. All flights are conducted in accordance with stringent safety standards and regulations.
Our aircraft are well-maintained, and thorough pre-flight checks are conducted to ensure a safe journey.
As a non-commercial operation, these flights are regulated under general aviation standards, ensuring a high level of safety and operational integrity.
AOC Partner Flights:
For certain trips, we collaborate with AOC-certified partners. These partners are fully certified commercial operators who adhere to the highest commercial aviation safety standards.
Flights operated by our AOC partners provide an additional level of oversight and regulatory compliance, ensuring maximum safety and comfort for our passengers.
When flying with our AOC partners, you can be assured of the highest level of professional service and operational excellence.
Planning Your Trip:
We plan trips to various golf destinations and will notify you of available dates and times. You can choose a trip that best fits your schedule.
Reservations and Payments: To join a trip, please register and pay your share of the costs in advance. This helps us plan and execute the trips efficiently. Payments cover only your portion of the flight costs. Golfing, accommodation, and other expenses are not included and must be paid separately by each passenger.
Example of Cost Sharing:
If the total flight cost is €6000 and we have 4 passengers on board, each person will pay €1500.
